Privacy policy

• Account: your phone number (to verify you are a real person), your display name, and optionally an email address, a profile photo and a short bio.
• Posts: rooms you post (rent, rules, photos, description, location) and requests you post when you are looking for a room.
• Messages: the messages you send and receive in Roomeyra.
• Alerts and notifications: your saved searches, and the notifications we create for you.
• Optional area: only if you tap to share it, your city and a point rounded to about one kilometer. See "Your location" below.
• Reports and safety: reports you file or that are filed about you, blocks, and a record of moderator actions.
• Technical data: basic logs such as IP address and device type, used for security and to prevent abuse.

We never ask for your location when a page loads. Your browser asks for permission only after you tap a button such as "Near me" or "Share my area".

• Near me uses your position inside your browser to search nearby. Nothing is sent to us or stored.
• Share my area is optional and for signed-in members. We look up your city, then keep only the city, the state and a point rounded to about one kilometer. We do not keep the exact position. We use it to start your search near you and to understand which cities to grow in, as totals by city.
• Other members never see your area. You can update or remove it any time from your profile.
• The exact address of a room is private by default. People see an approximate area on the map unless the poster chooses otherwise.

• Everyone can see posts that are live: the room, its rules, photos and the poster's display name, photo, bio and "phone verified" badge.
• Only the people in a conversation can read it. Moderators can read a conversation only when it is reported, and only a recent excerpt.
• Your phone number, email and exact location are never shown to other members.
• Staff who moderate Roomeyra can see reports and account status. Staff cannot see your messages otherwise.

We send a one-time code to verify your phone. If you turn on text alerts, we send short messages about rooms that match your alerts or offers made to you, at any time of day. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to a text to stop, or turn texts off in your profile. We send email only if you gave an email address and left email alerts on. We never sell your number or use it for advertising.

We use service providers to run Roomeyra. They process data only for us:

• Hosting, database, sign-in and photo storage: [Supabase and your hosting provider].
• Text messages and email: [Twilio, Resend, or your chosen providers].
• Maps and place search: [your map tile and geocoding providers]. Search text you type may be sent to the place-search provider.

We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect people from harm. We do not sell personal information.

• Your account and posts stay until you delete them. Deleting your account removes your profile, posts, photos, saved items, area and messages you sent.
• Notifications are cleared when they are no longer useful. Reports and the moderation record may be kept longer for safety and legal reasons.
• Backups are deleted on a schedule of [period].

• Edit your profile, photo and notification choices from your profile.
• Remove your shared area from your profile, or delete your account there.
• To ask for a copy of your data or have something corrected, contact [support email]. We respond within [number] days.

Access to your data is limited by rules in the database itself, connections are encrypted, and photos are stored privately. No system is perfectly secure, so please use care when sharing personal details in a chat. Roomeyra is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
